Business start up process & motivation
Have you ever thought about starting a business? Have you started one but never consistently put in the effort to achieve? Do you have a passion and would like to utilize your skills to monetize it for a way of happy living? This has been me a numerous times. I started a book when I was a kid but never finished it. Created YouTube videos and then deleted them. Been in a team garden landscape LLC business then we all went our own ways. And I have told myself that it is okay. Someday, a business idea will come and it will stick with you. It might be the very first idea you have or it might be the 7th idea. It’s not a competition except a competition with yourself against procrastination and utilizing your skills within your passion. Be resilient, keep innovating, and maintain a balance.
Starting a business will have its ups and downs. You will gain more patience and persevere through the challenges that come up. You will be challenged in new ways to be creative to problem solve. Your business will have you question if you are on the right path. Your senses to utilize your intuition along with logic will increase. The journey to starting can be a humbling experience as you get some negative comments and questions from people. Overall, starting a business will build your character to be stronger in ways you can ever imagine.
An activity my professor had his class do was to visualize and write your future business outcomes. The power of manifestations and the law of attraction is a gift from the universe. We would close our eyes to actively visualize what we wanted to achieve. The key to this practice is to do it consistently throughout the journey. You can do it before bed, as you meditate in nature, on a walk with your eyes open, etc. If you have a team business, it is good to write down how you envision the business going. He would have us write down our visions in the present tense. Such as “We have installed 1,000 garden beds this year. We have planted over 2,000 native plants in the local environment” etc. What you give your energy to, it will be attracted to that. If you constantly doubt yourself and fear that you will fail, unfortunately you will attract that as well. Focus on positive outcomes along with putting in the actions to get there to get toward your visualized goals.
One last topic I would like to discuss is creating actionable goals. We would have tasks for our days to achieve our weekly goals. Our weekly goals & tasks will then be aligned to achieving our monthly goals to reach our yearly goal. It's good to have big goals and plans to see the bigger picture of where you want to go. It’s even better to have actionable steps like a stairwell to get you to those big goals. It also makes it less daunting to know that you have the steps laid out into days, weeks, and months to get to the big goal.
I am attempting to start a blog & portfolio in hopes to align my passions of sharing knowledge, creating, inspiring readers, and having a positive impact on the environment. I do not have a clear vision on the content I will include just yet. I do know that I do not want to be conformed into a “niche”. I believe readers that live a similar lifestyle as me will feel drawn to read content aligned with their values. Sure it won't be good for google SEO. However, the readers that do feel called to it will eventually find this website through other means such as social media, friend recommendations, and eventually google searches.
